Front thanks everyone for the birth-a-ma-day wishes. He and crew scramble to get to Disneyworld today. Friday it's off to Georgia for the Marietta show. Nerdcore Rising is in Atlanta that same night! Head over right after the film to catch Front's set.
Last night's wild little show in Houston's hidden punk-rock grocery The White Swan ended beautifully with a honky-tonk sing-along. Tonight's New Orleans shindig at Howlin' Wolf should be a little less intimate, yet equally awesome.
You already know all about Front's Jacksonville show on the 2nd, but have you heard about the last-minute birthday blowout in Orlando? It is December 3rd (that is when Front's age notches up again) and the party starts at A Comic Shop at 5pm, then proceeds to Black Box Collective for the rapping portion from 8PM onwards.
Texas! It is big, it is wide. In Austin, the conglomerated forces of Nerdcore soaked up a turkey feast, wrecked shop onstage, saw their pals Jess Klein and The Brother Machine, and ate hells of breakfast tacos. Now they race towards Dallas for tonight's tomfoolery, and tomorrow it's on to Houston. Join them there. Or in NOLA the next night? Jacksonville, unbelievably, the night after that? What about Orlando, recently added for December 3rd? You might as well consult the calendar for details on all of these things.
Front is actually, amazingly, charting a little bit on college radio. Please use telephone technology to keep the pressure on. By this we mean: make requests. The album is called Final Boss.
A special note on Friday's Austin show: you must go see the movie first! It's at the Alamo Draft House Ritz downtown. It's at 7, which is just completely perfect for enjoying the movie, pestering Front at Q&A, then marching down the street to see the concert at the Flamingo. Nothing could be more serendipitous.
Ever onward our intrepid nerdcore rappers venture; seek them next in Austin, sunshiny capital of the great state of Texas. The show is Friday, right after the turkey-consuming holy day, so maybe you are home then. Otherwise, be an expatriate, traveler, or other person with reason to arrive. The Flamingo Cantina. Peace.
Los Angeles is next! Join Front, YT, and Lars for a night of star-studded fun at the Knitting Factory in historic, sophisticated Hollywood, USA. An extended clip of the film will be yours for the looking at. Showtime is seven in the evening! The day is this very monday.
Was Front really on the cover of CMJ? Better call all of your college stations and request songs from the new album immediately.
Frontalot is going to show up live and in person for Q&A after the 7:15 screening tonight at the Red Vic in San Francisco. Will he also grace the 9:30 showing? Depends how much drinking he is compelled to do in between. How about the showings tomorrow? Naw, Front'll be too busy rocking the Uptown in Oaktown.
Second Bay Area show added! Mountain View : Zen Lounge : 7PM : 21+. Be there! Be there a lot!
Oh, man. Comedy of Terrors, indeed! Apparently, Jillian's in Las Vegas is closing down. Sadly, this means our intrepid nerdcore rappers can not perform there!
Thus, the Sunday, Nov. 23rd show in Las Vegas has been cancelled!
Fate bemoaning aside, please be assured our crew of nerdy awesomeologists will be bringing it where/whenever they are able to perform! Observe the gig calendar (updated often) and plan accordingly. Also, prey to all known dieties for these Terror-styled Comedies to be done now, thanks! (News post via Yooktron 5000.)
Portland! Front and company rock Rotture this evening in PDX, with the brand new secret surprise keyboardist sitting in. Nerdcore Rising: The Movie plays at the Clinton Street Theater on the weekend of the 21st. It's like two weekends of nerdcore in a row.
Speaking of the movie and the tour intersecting, The Red Vic has got Front's hometown screening, and you can expect to see Frontalot (along with the esteemed Ms Farsad) at the Q&A on Nov 18th. He might even make it to the matinee on the 19th before hurrying over to Oakland for that night's concert.
And you must (must!) put yourself at the Knitting Factory for Frontalot's just-added LA show on the 24th. Front and Lars are finally in the big room there, and it has to be full of cheering nerdfolk in order for our favorite rappers to be rockstars forever (instead of getting jobs at the mall selling G1 phones to the last fourteen yuppies who haven't been recessionized). If your anticipation of this show burns, sate yourself with Nerdcore Rising screenings on the 21st and 22nd at the Engineering Cinemateque at Studio 1636. Reservations are urged.
